Re: May rumours
They ARE different, but I never know what the difference IS! I think we will have to wait for an answer from an expert. Someone from Florida, or some other place where they actually HAVE these creatures.
And I'm too lazy/busy to google it. lol.

Re: May rumours
Alligators have wider, U-shaped snouts, while crocodile front ends are more pointed and V-shaped
crocodiles look like they're flashing a toothy grin, as the fourth tooth on each side of the lower jaw sticks up over the upper lip. For alligators, the upper jaw is wider than the lower one, so when they close their mouths, all their teeth are hidden.
Crocodiles tend to live in saltwater habitats, while alligators hang out in freshwater marshes and lakes.

Re: May rumours
Well we have crocodiles in South Africa. Crocodiles have longer, V-shaped snouts/noses.
Also, they drown you then eat you.
Not sure what alligators do for lunch.

Re: May rumours
Anie - Alligators eat pretty much the same and are very numerous in Florida. We also have crocodiles in Florida, but only at the very southern end of the state.
Since they are very close in appearance to our alligator, I was excited to see a crocodile pen offered. (although I wouldn't want to meet up with either of the reptiles in my yard!)

Re: May rumours
There are 3 alligators in the lake by my house.
I can walk down to the lake with no fear- but I wont take my little dogs down there right now. The gators are hungry and Its breeding season. They can move very fast when it comes to food. I saw an alligator jump up and snatch a black bird one day- very fast.
Its very common too see gators in florida
