Re: Daily talks
Yea- most of the time when you go to a hotel its just to sleep.
I love the idea..
I have a friend that goes to Disney and spends 1700 a night to sleep there at a Disney hotel.
That's CRAZY Insane to me.....
Especially when you are at the park all day!

And what does one DO when sleeping..... right... one closes ones eyes.
Ah, If I had lots of money too much, then I probably would like to stay in a disney themed room too.... at least once. But still 1700 bucks a night... wauw. that's 3 months rent more or less!

Re: Daily talks
We are often dreaming of a car. or camper van. Or pickup truck. or adventure mobile. or scooter-mobile, or a humvee, or or or...
But, in the end, the practicalities of life come first right? so, we are narrowing our dreams a little. However rediculously poor we are, -and nowhere néar affording a car- we will keep our dreams alive!
As my hubby has a scooter license, there are certain slow cars he is allowed to drive with that license...and they're getting better and better... those things used to look like little granny cars, or spefically for disabled people, and "normally healthy" people would never want to be seen with one...
However.... ;-) they are designing nice little city monsters these days. (about 15000 bucks)
And nice "trucks" too. Perfect for our tiny little city here. (also about 15000 bucks)
I'm really partial to the truck type, as one can STUFF it with STUFF.
I will always choose the truck over the luxury car....but.... drool.

Re: Daily talks
Sorry everyone that I am participating so little, but I've got the eye problem again. (sharp thing in my eyelid that the doc can't seem to find)
makes blinking painful, so eye closed or forced open... .makes it difficult to read or type or do anything.
patience.... (argh, me and patience... sure...!)

Tookie - I can't imagine how awful eye problems are. I pray you get better soon.
I came down with a cold this weekend. Not feeling great this morning.

Re: Daily talks
It always takes at least four days before it starts getting better... It's mostly very annoying.
Get well soon Brooke!!
I also wanted to ask everyone, is this funny to you? To Dutch people this IS funny, but I wonder if the same goes for English speakers.
https://www.hallmark.nl/kaarten/make-that-the-cat--wise/
It's dutch translated directly to english. (having a cold means I'm "verkouden" en litterally that means ver=far , kouden= colden, which makes it, I am very farcolden!" (just as one example of those cards. )

Re: Daily talks
Oh Tookie, I think some of the cards lose something in the translation, but others are pure gold. My favorite is:
Hi Snotnose,
Get well soon
I think if I sent that card to someone, they'd get well in 5 minutes to rush over and clobber me. What do you think, Brooke? Are you well yet? Do I need a hardhat?

Re: Daily talks
Hilarious cards!!!! Thanks Tookie!
mindy - That one was my fav too! LOL....no hard hat needed!
I just finished my 3 days coming of my cold. Now the nose-blowing begins. I had re-scheduled everything this week until Friday....so we could go up to the cabin to do some relaxed Spring cleaning. But winter has decided it's not done yet....more snow up there.
I guess it was a good thing(clearing the schedule) as now I have the freedom to be sick aka lie on the couch and nap!
I have to be well by Sat/Sunday....as I am having Easter Brunch at my house with all the family!

Re: Daily talks
I'm glad they're funny to you too. And I think I can even spot the ones that lose something in translation, or for which you really need to know the dutch part.
I like the snotnose too.
Thanks for checking it out! It's sometimes rather difficult to figure out what is funny in another language and especially when languages get mixed up.
