Lie to me:

Do you live near YNP (not asking specific location, just curious about general locality)?  It's so beautiful there.  I especially love the paint pots.  Stink to high heaven because of the sulfur, but really pretty. 

Close enough to get to but far enough away that maybe, just maybe if the Super Volcano goes off, I can head towards Canada before the fallout does me in.  (That's a BIG maybe.) 

I spent my summers as a kid in the park.  (Dad was a seasonal ranger.)  I remember roadside bears, watching the grizzlies at night at the dumps, the antler house (across from the Visitor Center in Mammoth), the "new" interchange at Old Faithful (OF), the old road through OF that is now a walking/bike path and a few other things that would really date me.

I'm not that familiar with Yellowstone, tho I've been there, but we lived just down the road from Glacier when I was a kid, and mom used to get a season pass every summer to be able to just go for a drive and see what we could see.  Funny thing, I never saw a bear in Glacier, tho my mom used to see them often, all my bear encounters have been outside the park.

Most of my bear encounters have been in YNP.  I don't think I've seen any in Glacier but I haven't spent much time there and not usually off the beaten path so the chances are much less.  We do get the occasional bear in the vicinity but I've rarely seen them close up around here.  They do make the police blotter during the fall when apples are on the ground around many homes.  Spouse has a Golden Age pass so we can visit any parks when we have the time.

Wow, dat's alotta rain!   Praying for your safety, and that rescuing won't be necessary.  Gonna pass on this one, can't wait to see the correct answer, tho!

I've only been to Oregon, and Nevada (Vegas, and in that same trip I drove over the Hoover Dam into Arizona... just to say I have been to another state, lol).   
I literaly AM the epitome of a small town country girl, no joke     


I did go to Vegas to go to the Mopar Nationals with plans to get married in a drive thru... but I was PMS'n bad  , (bitchy and bloated!), it was miserably hot, muggy and crowded everywhere so we said we'd come back some other day and do the drive thru thing (never did)   . Oh and Elvis wasn't ever in the equation... it was just a long time running joke between us (about getting married by an Elvis impersonator, lol).
